Alaska Milk relied on LA Tenorio's fourth quarter heroics and strong offensive efforts from Tony dela Cruz and rookie Mac Baracael as it repulsed Powerade, 121-111, Friday to remain in the playoff hunt in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum. 

Tenorio erupted for 13 of his 23 points, dela Cruz had his best game in a long while and Baracael had a career best 22-point effort as the Aces nailed their second win in nine outings to stay alive in the race for the eighth and last playoff berth. 

 "Its good to be back," were the first words mentioned by Alaska coach Joel Banal referring to being in the post-game interview as well as remaining in the playoff race.

James Yap desperately struggled with his shooting nearly all night but still managed to rescue his 
team when the going got tough. 

The two-time Most Valuable Player knocked in two huge shots in the second overtime that led to a 
barrage of baskets and propelled B-Meg to a 92-89 decision past Alaska in the two-team’s PBA 
Philippine Cup elimination round rematch Sunday at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.

B-MEG banked on the big shots of James Yap and rookie Mark Barroca to nail a thrilling 92-89 win against Alaska in the 2011-12 PBA Philippine Cup Sunday at the SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

Yap scored eight of his 24 points on 4-of-4 shooting in the second overtime period, while Barroca netted a career-high 22 points as the Llamados’ win-loss record finally went above the .500 mark at 5-4.

Kerby Raymundo also had a solid game with 14 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists while Marc Pinrgis contributed 10 for B-MEG.

“It was an epic game,” said Llamados head coach Tim Cone, who is now 2-0 against his former team. “Game of big shots and big stops and every possession seemed that way.”

B-Meg coach Tim Cone admits he wants no less than a victory against his former team, Alaska, when the two clash in one of the two featured Sunday games in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Cone, however, stressed he will not delight in it.

"We hope to try to approach this as just another game, we don’t want to get into the hype of a basketball game," said Cone, who spent all of his early coaching life with the Aces before deciding the make the jump.

Petron Blaze arrested a three-game losing skid by outlasting Alaska, 86-80, in the 2011 PBA Philippine Cup in Lapu Lapu City, Cebu on Saturday.

Joseph Yeo came through with his best game in years, unloading 27 points to help the Boosters snapped a three-game losing streak. Petron improved its win-loss card  to 4-3.

Fresh from a first win which ended its worst conference start in 10 years, Alaska is looking to make it two in a row against a Petron Blaze squad which itself is looking to break out of a slump as the 2011-12 PBA Philippine Cup goes on the road anew Saturday this time in Lapu-Lapu City. 

 The Aces, who surprised erstwhile streaking Barako Bull 93-72 last Wednesday, take on the undermanned Boosters in the 6:45 p.m. encounter at the Hoops Dome, the league’s first official game in the four-month old new venue at the center of Mactan island in Cebu.
